Man's Choice

Man has to be man – by choice.

He has to hold his life as a value - by choice.

He has to learn to sustain it – by choice.

He has to discover the values it requires and practice his virtues – by choice.

Man cannot survive except by gaining knowledge and reason is the only means to get it.

Religious abstractions are the product of man’s mind – not of supernatural revelation.

It is not in the nature of man to start out by giving up – by spitting on one’s own face or by damning existence.

Hence when you gaze around you, you see that man’s life is a sense of enormous expectation – the sense that one’s life is important – that great achievements are within one’s capacity – and that great things lie ahead.
