We Never Learn

When we have in our hand an intense form of nationalism which believes that only your country is superior to other countries and that all other countries are deteriorating and mediocre and we spend billions of dollars each and every year to prepare for ”defense” - we are establishing the barbarian policy of “might is right”.

We are still following the Mongols way of life : the only thing that still counts in the international affair is ‘Force’. The intrinsic worth of Truth, Mercy and Tolerance are seen as fundamental indicators of softness and weakness of human nature. We are all itching for war and we see ourselves relying solely on shedding blood and believing in the Iron Rod.

We had a 1914 and a 1935. We are waiting for more such dates.

Such is the folly of Mankind.

All your life you always wanted to become ‘somebody’. Don’t complain now that you did not become ‘somebody’ – you should have been more specific!

Further just imagine that if all of us had become somebody specific what we wanted to be – then the world would be filled up with doctors, engineers, scientist and the rich.

Back then - a person who read a lot of books was a ‘well read’ person.

Today - a person who views a lot of TV is a ‘well viewed’ person.
