Pitfall- 1962 (おとし穴, Otoshiana), by Hiroshi Teshigahara

One would be lucky to find a print of Pitfall- 1962 (おとし穴, Otoshiana), by Hiroshi Teshigahara. Even if one finds it, this film is not for everyone - a difficult work, recommended for serious watchers.

The work involves the dead against the dead and the living against the living. It is as if both the dead and the living have a question. The dead questions the reason of being dead and the living questions the reason of being alive.

Then there are some like the little boy who witness murders and a rape. They do not ask any questions – they only observe without taking part or endeavoring to alter the situation.

It is a totally bizarre, disoriented existential world.

Questions are left open. The work is left to the personal interpretation of the viewer.
